During a walk in the heart of Pasadena, California, my friend Lindsay, of IAMNOTASTALKER, spotted this sidewalk sign. I'm curious to learn what makes Beany's "omlet" original. It must be the spelling. Why did you omit an omelet letter, Beany's? Throw another e into your original omelet. While you're at it, throw in some cheese, diced ham, green peppers and onions. Mmm! I'd fork over $4.99 for that.
At least they got spaghetti and vermicelli correct. I would probably screw those up. I hope you do more posts on signs like this. There are so many good ones out there!
ReplyDeleteI'll do my best, John. There is really no excuse for misspelling a word, even a difficult one. It’s not like I know how to spell every word in our language. That’s where dictionaries come in. I employ them often. And heck, nowadays people who are unsure of a spelling can check it on their tablet or smartphone. No eckscuses! Er, no excuses! ;)
DeleteAh, I had forgotten about this one. :) That same sign with the omelet misspelling was still up later that same week when I walked by.
ReplyDeleteI told you I was going to use it, Lindsay. Would I lie to you?! It’s just that I’m a bit backlogged, so mistakes you share with me may not show up right away. If you continue to send me “sparking” instances of “writing gone wrong,” however, I promise they will appear on my site … eventually. :)
